- Consolidate the planning related to shipments and customs clearance of goods
- Supervise and optimize Freight Forwarding follow up activities with foreign / local clearing and forwarding agents
- Supervise shipping operation, execution, monitoring and follow up
- Co-ordinates and controls the efficiency and the conformity with procedures for all Freight Forwarding activities performed
- Supervise all shipping Import/Export operations from origin across the world, to delivery at company approved reception facilities
- Help supervise and mentor Freight Forwarding officers and Graduate Freight forwarding officers on a day to day basis
- Supervise the activities of Clearing agents and Foreign forwarding agents
- Assists the Team Leader in the Contract Committees during the CFT
- Liaise with ports operators in all port interests, and head of yards for stacking provisions management
- Liaise with base logistics, reception and warehousing personnel to ensure efficient operations and cargo deliveries
- Liaise with government agencies, and other third parties to secure relevant permits and approval for import/Export functions
- Oversee the relations with/between Métier Partners and clearing agents/ freight forwarders•
- Optimize the activities of third party service provides and evaluate their performance
- Direct and guide foreign third party concerning local laws and government regulatory bodies
- Professional experience: 6-7 years experience in international trade/shipping
- Main Personal Abilities: Advanced Human Relations, Basic Management, Problem Solving and planning/organizing/coordinating /controlling
This job requires very close contact with Métier Partners and external agencies like customs, clearing agents/Freight Forwarders, banks, Pre-shipment inspection agents, local Clearing/Forwarding agents and delegation buyers. The job holder needs to be able to reconcile divergences between Freight Forwarding practices and official rules of public servants and operate following the rulings and supervision of various local Government agencies. The Senior Freight Forwarding officer can mentor Freight Forwarding officers and Graduate Freight Forwarding officers.
