Qualifications- Law degree (or equivalent) is essential
- Qualified to practise law in UK and thorough understanding of UK law and practises.

- Ability to work unsupervised, demonstrate initiative and deal with ad hoc requests as part of the role that does not naturally have standard routine.
- The position is part of the Legal team responsible for Statoil’s upstream activities in the UK and Ireland, reporting to the Head of Legal, UK & Ireland Offshore.
- Key accountabilities and tasks:
- Providing legal support related to the daily operation of large value contracts operating out of Aberdeen including developing, drafting and reviewing legal documentation in support of procurement activities.
- Drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements, including joint operating, decommissioning security, construction, tie-in and transport agreements.
- Providing legal advice and support to the business including employment law related matters, corporate legal support, deliver training to other departments and other ad hoc legal issues.
- Engagement with contractors, partners, relevant authorities, industry bodies and external counsel as required.
- Anti-corruption and anti-trust compliance.
- Representing Statoil in various external meetings and internal or external committees as required.
- Skills and Experience:
- Relevant PQE experience in upstream activities especially in relation to the UKCS.
- In-house experience, whether from a number of secondments or current in-house position would be preferable.
