Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Law obtained from 1 to 5 years ago in a high ranked university
- High academic achievement
- Qualified to practice law in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
- Professional experience as in-house, in a law firm with international clients or other relevant private or public practice
- Good knowledge of general business law issues of an international company and E&P regulatory framework
- Fluency in Portuguese and English (oral and written) is mandatory.

- Your main responsibilities will cover a variety of legal issues concerning our oil and gas activities in Brazil. Amongst others, the following responsibilities apply to this position:
- Providing legal advice and support on a wide range of legal activities
- Advising on Brazilian E&P regulatory framework with a proper understanding of the main terms and conditions of confidentiality agreements, concession agreements, production sharing agreement, Joint Operating Agreements (JOAs), Farm-In Agreements and other typical contracts internationally used by the oil and gas industry
- Contract drafting and negotiations
- Advising on general business law issues and managing the legal issues of all areas of the company, including procurement, HSE, litigation, corporate and labour related matters
- Management of external legal counsels
- Representing the department in various meetings and committees as required
- Ethics and Compliance and governance services
- Cooperation with the other members of the legal department in Brazil and abroad.
- You will be a member of the legal department in Statoil Brasil, located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and report to the head of said department, which is part of Statoil’s development and production international legal team.
